How does ShoreList handle payments?
Guests pay the full booking price through our secure Stripe checkout at the time of reservation. Once you deliver the experience, ShoreList remits your net payout (full price minus the agreed commission) within 5 business days. Simple, automatic, no invoicing required.
What if I need to cancel a booking?
Life happens. If you need to cancel, notify us as soon as possible and we'll handle the guest communication and refund. We ask that cancellations be rare — frequent cancellations affect your listing visibility and placement.
Do I need to change how I run my business?
Not at all. ShoreList drives guests to you. You run your experience exactly as you always have. We handle the booking infrastructure — you handle the magic. Your availability, your pricing, your experience.
What licenses and insurance do I need?
You need to hold all required licenses and permits to legally operate your business in North Carolina. We recommend operators carry general liability insurance appropriate for their activity type — we'll discuss your specific coverage during onboarding. It's not a barrier to getting listed.
Can I be on ShoreList AND other platforms?
Yes. ShoreList is a non-exclusive partnership. You can list on Viator, GetYourGuide, or any other platform simultaneously. We just ask that you don't direct ShoreList-referred guests to book outside our platform for the same experience during this agreement and for 12 months after termination.
How long does it take to go live?
Once your agreement is signed (via SignWell e-signature) and your listing information is submitted, we'll typically have your business live on ShoreList.net within 48-72 hours. RJ will reach out personally to make sure everything looks perfect before launch.
What is the “Featured Spotlight” and how do I get it?
The Featured Spotlight is a premium placement on the ShoreList homepage — the first thing every visitor sees. It includes your availability calendar, star rating, and a direct book button. Featured spots are available for $50/week and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact us at shorelistwilmington@gmail.com to reserve yours.

ShoreList LLC — Operator Listing Agreement
Plain English · Fair Terms

1. Platform Services

ShoreList LLC agrees to list your business on Shorelist.net, market your experiences to visitors through our website and physical promotional materials, process guest payments on your behalf via Stripe, notify you of all new bookings by email, and remit your net payout within 5 business days of a completed experience.

2. Your Obligations as an Operator

  • Respond to booking notifications within 24 hours.
  • Maintain all required licenses, permits, and certifications to legally operate your business.
  • Carry commercial general liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, naming ShoreList LLC as an additional insured. Proof of insurance must be provided to ShoreList upon request and before your listing goes live.
  • Provide accurate, honest descriptions of your experiences including pricing, duration, and any safety requirements.
  • Deliver confirmed bookings as described.
  • Notify ShoreList within 48 hours of any pricing or availability changes.
  • Treat all ShoreList-referred guests professionally and courteously.
  • Not solicit ShoreList-referred guests to bypass our platform during this agreement and for 12 months after termination.

3. Commission & Payment

ShoreList earns a commission on every completed booking. The commission rate applicable to your category is confirmed in your signed listing agreement. There are no listing fees, monthly fees, or setup charges. ShoreList earns only when you earn. Payouts are processed within 5 business days of the completed experience via your preferred payment method.

4. Refunds & Cancellations

If you cancel: Guests receive a full refund. You receive no payment for cancelled bookings.

If a guest cancels: ShoreList's standard cancellation policy applies. You are paid only for delivered experiences.

No-shows: You retain the full booking payment for confirmed no-shows where you honored your commitment and the guest did not appear.

Disputes: ShoreList will notify you of any guest dispute and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond before any refund decision.

5. Representations & Warranties

By signing, you confirm that you have legal authority to enter this agreement, all information you provide is accurate and complete, your experiences comply with all applicable North Carolina and federal laws, and you will maintain all required operating licenses.

6. Intellectual Property

You grant ShoreList a limited, non-exclusive license to use your business name, photos, and descriptions solely to promote your listings on our platform. You retain full ownership of all your content and may revoke this license with 30 days written notice.

7. Liability & Indemnification

ShoreList is a booking marketplace — we facilitate reservations but do not operate or supervise experiences. ShoreList is not responsible for events occurring during the delivery of your experience. You agree to indemnify ShoreList LLC, its officers and employees against third-party claims arising from your business operations. ShoreList's total liability to you is limited to 3 months of commissions paid in the preceding period.

8. Term & Termination

This agreement runs month-to-month from the date of signing. Either party may terminate with 30 days written notice. ShoreList may terminate immediately for cause including: violation of any applicable law, posing a safety risk to guests, or repeated failure to honor confirmed bookings.

9. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep non-public business information — including booking data, guest personal information, and negotiated commission rates — strictly confidential during and after the term of this agreement.

10. Tax Reporting — IRS Form 1099-K & W-9

ShoreList is required by federal law to report payments to operators. If you receive payments through ShoreList that meet or exceed the applicable IRS reporting threshold in any calendar year, ShoreList will issue you an IRS Form 1099-K. The current federal reporting threshold is set by the IRS and may change from year to year. By submitting this application, you confirm that the EIN or SSN you provide is accurate and that you authorize ShoreList to use it solely for IRS tax reporting purposes.

You are solely responsible for reporting your ShoreList income on your tax returns. Failure to provide a valid tax ID may result in backup withholding of 24% on your payouts as required by IRS regulations.

11. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. You and ShoreList are independent contractors — not partners, employees, joint venturers, or agents of each other. Any unresolved disputes are subject to good-faith mediation in New Hanover County, NC before litigation.

ShoreList LLC recommends that all parties consult qualified legal counsel before signing any business agreement. This agreement is intended to be readable, fair, and protective of both parties.
